Chemonics is an international development consulting firm that promotes meaningful change to help people live healthier, more productive, and more independent lives. Around the world, Chemonics designs and implements projects in financial services, private sector development, health, environmental management, gender, crisis prevention and recovery, democracy and governance, and agriculture. I was involved in two projects implemented by Chemonics International financed by the United States Agency for International Development.
AUGUST 2003 - JUNE 2006 COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST ARMENIA MICRO ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (MEDI)
Primary counterparts of MEDI were Micro Finance Institutions, Business Support Providers, Associations, Banks, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center of Armenia
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for Knowledge Management of the Project - Created a centralized filing system for storing all project materials
- Developed database of contacts
- Developed Project Electronic Library (printed materials were categorized, coded, and stored in a single database with a powerful search engine)
- Designed and developed internal communication materials
Coordinated mass media related activities- Wrote press releases
- Invited mass media representatives to events and followed-up with aired and printed news
- Disseminated Program information to public through mass media
Organized various types of events:- Prepared and sent invitation letters
- Contacted invitees, received confirmations, and prepared list of participants
- Prepared certificates, stickers, signs, badges, sigh-up sheets, name tags, etc.
- Handled all logistics including negotiations with venue providers on space, meal, equipment, etc.
- Took pictures during events; created database of pictures and slide shows
- Prepared follow-up questionnaires on the effectiveness of trainings
Supervised development and maintained 3 websites for the project- Developed Technical Specifications of the websites
- Supervised the subcontractor in development of the websites
- Identified and regularly updated the websites content
Designed and developed Armenia Welcome Guide for international visitors. The Guide includes information on Armenian geography, political structure, economy, history, religion, language, communications, sightseeing, entertainment, etc.
